I might just have the perfect role for you! We are looking for a full-time hourly employee to help us at JenniferMaker as a Publicity Coordinator.

This position is accountable for securing local and national public appearances, media placements, and brand recognition.

This position will oversee JenniferMaker's media communications by drafting press releases, organizing public relations events, and maintaining good relationships.

The ideal candidate will be experienced with public relations, have exceptional communication skills, a solution-based aptitude, the ability to handle any media-related crisis in a calm and timely manner, as well as familiarity with the JenniferMaker brand. This position involves a combination of attention to detail and follow-through, and it has high expectations for meeting deadlines.

Position Details

Status: Hourly employee (not a contractor position)

Position Type: Full-time, 30 - 40 hours per week. Must be available and willing to work weekends and some non-traditional hours as needed.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Special Note: As a JenniferMaker employee, you will not be able to engage in any outside activity that could be construed as a conflict of interest, such as running or working on your own or someone else's blog or crafting business.

Responsibilities

  • Defines the company's public relations goals by developing and implementing strategies to maintain the company's public image.
  • Writes and distributes detailed press releases.
  • Cultivates strong relationships with media outlets and journalists to ensure efficient communication and maximum coverage.
  • Schedules public events and coordinating interview requests.
  • Works cohesively with the marketing team to plan and implement campaigns aimed at increasing brand awareness.
  • Analyzes the outcome of public relations campaigns and reports the findings to management.
  • Maintains an up-to-date press list of journalists, influencers, and other members of the media.
  • Understands that copyrights and ownership for designs created for the JenniferMaker brand will belong to the brand.
  • Understands and uses the JenniferMaker products and projects so you can answer questions and support our crafters.
  • Effectively communicates with the team and meets with us weekly on Zoom video chats.
  • Has the best interest of the JenniferMaker brand in mind.
  • Helps us look good to our readers and customers.
  • Works with minimal supervision.
  • Additional duties as required by management. 

Things You've Done in the Past

  • Minimum of four years experience working in the public relations industry. 
  • Proven media relations capabilities and established network of media contacts.
  • Preference may be given to candidates who have successfully completed college level public relations, journalism, marketing, or communication classes.
  • Experience with Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Forms, and Facebook.
  • Experience with a Cricut cutting machine and Cricut Design Space.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Cricut crafting.
  • Experience working with a virtual team.
  • Project management skills and experience are a plus.
  • Candidates may be asked to provide a portfolio of successful client work.
