Do you love writing? Do you have experience in the world of instructional design or education? Are you a Cricut expert who's familiar with crafting?

I might just have the perfect role for you!  

We are looking for a full time hourly employee to help us at JenniferMaker as our Product Developer - Cutting Machine Education.

This position is accountable for creating digital courses, ebooks, and workshops for our crafting community.

You will be an expert at creating and maintaining high-quality digital courses, ebooks, and other instructional materials that are tailored specifically around using Cricut cutting machines and/or Cricut products. The ideal candidate will be experienced with Cricut cutting machines, as well as familiar with both crafting and the JenniferMaker brand.

The person who is right for this position has experience writing effective copy, instructional text, and audio/video scripts, as well as lesson and curriculum planning skills. While perhaps not quite yet an expert, this person does have a solid familiarity with the JenniferMaker blog and our courses/ebooks, as well as a strong desire to learn in a technology-based craft education company.

This position involves a combination of creativity, attention to detail, and follow-through, and it has high expectations for meeting deadlines.

Position Details

Status: Hourly employee (not a contractor position)

Position Type: Full-time, 30 - 40 hours per week; flexibility and ability to pivot is a must.

Pay: $24.00 - $31.00 per hour

Special Note: As a JenniferMaker employee, you will not be able to engage in any outside activity that could be construed as a conflict of interest, such as running or working on your own or someone else's blog or crafting business.

Responsibilities

  • Design complete, original, and high-quality digital courses, ebooks, and other instructional materials that are tailored specifically around using Cricut cutting machines and/or Cricut products.
  • Create compelling course content that enhances retention.
  • Writes and maintains all written material related to use of Cricut machines and/or products, including Cricut design software (such as ebooks, cheat sheets, course material, etc.).
  • State instructional end goals and create content that matches them.
  • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product.
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, etc.).
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders.
  • Understands that copyrights and ownership for designs created for the JenniferMaker brand will belong to the brand.
  • Understands and uses the JenniferMaker products and projects so you can answer questions and support our crafters.
  • Effectively communicates with the team and meets with us weekly on Zoom video chats.
  • Has the best interest of the JenniferMaker brand in mind.
  • Helps me look good to my readers and customers.
  • Works with minimal supervision.

Things You've Done in the Past

  • 2 years experience in education or instructional design.  
  • Preference may be given to candidates possessing experience using a Cricut Maker, a Cricut Explore, and/or Cricut Design Space.
  • Preference may be given to candidates who have successfully completed college level courses in instructional design and/or education technology classes.
  • Experience working with a virtual team.
  • Crafted simple things (and not afraid to work with your hands or with technology).

Note: I'd just like familiarity, not expertise, with how to generally use these tools. If you don't have it but are willing to learn, great!

Wants to learn how to blog or run a business from Jennifer. As an employee, you will not be able to have your own blog or craft-related business, as that would be a conflict of interest and split your focus. This position requires 100% focus on growing the JenniferMaker brand and community.
